Jerzy Jędrysiak was born in 1954. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He is a professor of the Art Department of the Pedagogical Univesity in Cracow. He runs the Woodcut Studio there. He showed his works on 60 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad ( Germany, Holland,France, Belgium Slovakia, Croatia, Austria, Ireland, USA). He won 24 artistic awards in Poland and 14 international awards in printmaking (e.g.: I Prize , XYLON, the International Woodcut Triennial, 1987, Winterthur, Switzerland; the Ex Aequo Prize, the International Print Triennial, 1990, Frechen, Germany; II Prize, the International Print Biennial, 1991, Wakayama, Japan; Grand Prix, the International Print Biennial, 1991, Bhopal, India; I Prize, the International Print Biennial, 1993, Maastricht, Holland; the Prize, the International Print Exhibition, 1996, Portland, USA ). He usually works in linocut technique.
The artist had one individual exhibition in Jan Fejkiel Gallery so far. He also took part in collective shows organised by the gallery, i.a.: Stone, Metal, Wood, Computer ,Cracow Expo Center (1994); The Element and the Method, Galerie de la C.G.E.R. (1996, Liege), Centrum Manggha (1997, Cracow); Mondo Cane, JFG, (2001, Cracow), The State Gallery (2002, Kielce); Visible/ Invisible, Turchin Center for Visual Arts, (2012/13 Boone NC, USA).
