Krzysztof Skórczewski born in 1947. He studied at the Print Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Now he is a Professor of the University in Rzeszów ( East of Poland) and runs the Print Faculty at the Art Department there. He exhibited his works on more than 60 individual shows. Among other awards he won II Award and Special Award of IV and XI International Print Biennial in Cracow (1972 and 1986), I Award of the International Print Festival in Menton ( France,1989), Special Award of the International Print Biennial „CuprumVI” in Lubin ( Poland,1995) and I Award of Premio Sciascia in Milano (Italy, 2009). He is mostly involved in copperplate engraving but he also produces cycles of drawings. Works in chosen museum collections : the National Museum in Warsaw, Cracow, Poznan, Gdansk (Poland), Graphische Sammlung Albertina in Vienna (Austria), Cabinet d`Estampes in Geneve (Swiss), Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Gallery of Art in Washingtom (USA), University of Alberta in Edmonton (Canada) .
The artist had two individual exhibitions in Jan Fejkiel Gallery so far. He also took part in collective shows organised by the gallery, i.a.: The Ironic Portrait, the State Gallery (1993, Cracow, Kielce, Łódż), Forum Ost-West (1994, Bergisch Gladbach); Stone, Metal, Wood, Computer ,Cracow Expo Center(1994); The Element and the Method, Galerie de la C.G.E.R. (1996, Liege), Centrum Manggha (1997, Cracow); Mondo Cane, JFG, (2001, Cracow), The State Gallery (2002, Kielce); Beyond the Passe-Partout, New Spaces in Print, JFG (2006, Cracow); Visible/ Invisible, Turchin Center for Visual Arts, (2012/13 Boone NC, USA).
