Zbigniew Biel born in 1957. He studied at the Print Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow.He had several individual exhibitions and took part in a few dozen group shows. He was awarded with the II Prize (1989) and Grand Prix (1991)) at the International Print Biennial „Cuprum” in Lubin ( Poland) and with the II Prize of the Polish Print Triennial ( 1991) in Katowice. He worked as a preservationist of historical objects and also as a interior designer; both strongly influenced his prints. In printmakinghe practises etching and drawing.
The artist had an individual exhibitions in Jan Fejkiel Gallery. He also took part in collective shows organised by the gallery, i.a.: The Young Cracow Printmakers, Polish Culture Institut, Prague 1993; The Ironic Portrait, the State Gallery (1993, Cracow, Kielce, Łódż), Forum Ost-West (1994, Bergisch Gladbach); Stone, Metal, Wood, Computer ,Cracow Expo Center(1994); The Polish Printmakers and the French Poets, Galerie des Franciscains St.Nazaire); Visible/ Invisible, Turchin Center for Visual Arts, (2012/13 Boone NC, USA).
